1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. baking soda
Mix above and pack into a WIDE MOUTH QUART canning jar.
Next layer the following, in order, packing each layer firmly:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 1/4 cups chips (choc, pb, or M&Ms)
1/4 cup brown sugar
3/4 cup white sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 cup flour
Place decorative fabric over lid and seal.
Attach following to the jar -
To make cookies you'll need to add:
3/4 cup butter or margarine
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
Cream butter, add vanilla and egg. Beat until smooth. Gradually add cookie jar mixture and stir until well blended. Place on cookie sheet and bake 10-12 minutes at 350. Makes 3 1/2 dozen.

Brownies in a Jar
Layer:
2 1/4 cups white sugar
2/3 cup cocoa
1/2 cup chopped pecans (walnuts would probably work too)
1 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
Directions - pout sugar into QUART jar. Press down. Add cocoa and press down firmly, then pecans. Combine flour, powder, and salt. Pour into jar, press down and seal.
Attach these directions to jar:
Brownies:
1. Empty brownie mix into large mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly. Add 3/4 cup butter or margarine and 4 slightly beaten eggs. Mix until completely blended. Spread batter into lightly greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until done. Cut into 2" squares. Makes 2 doz.
